Yes, it is not designed to take over from your normal control unit. It is merely a back stop.
By lifting the handle to start, my refrigeration turns on too early.
Most thermostat controllers have a delayed output allowing a time to be entered and this will delay the actual thermostat activating the refrigeration. The agitator will start straight away.
How do you turn off the refrigeration if the switch is still in the off position?
Either move the switch to the refrigeration on position (RF1) and back to the off position or move the switch to the (IPC) position and back to the off position.
Does the controller switch off when the valve handle at the back of the vat is moved back to the wash position after milking?
No, once activated the controller will stay on until manually switched off. (generally by the tanker driver)
